Michael Scott O’Neal is a Military Photojournalism Program graduate from Syracuse’s University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications of 2010.
O’Neal is a combat photographer in the United States Army with the 55th Signal Company (Combat Camera) and has provided photographic coverage for military operations in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
O'Neal was a unit public affairs representative in the 1 of the 141 Infantry Unit, Texas Army National Guard where he was deployed to Kosovo and supported his battalion with media projects including writing, photography and video work.
For his meritorious achievement in performing media communications and visual image support in Kosovo, O'Neal was awarded the Army Commendation Medal. He also garnered first place in the Keith L. Ware Award, Department of the Army, Europe, for best photographic contribution by a stringer in 2006.
O'Neal has a Bachelor's of Science degree in Mass Communications from Middle Tennessee State University.
He lives with his loving family which includes his wife, five-year-old daughter and parent-in-laws.
